Happy Easter 🐰 (if you celebrate.) Tomorrow is my birthday and I am very much looking forward to a little getaway for a few days. (I’ll fill you in later. 🎵 but here’s a little clue 📜🕶️ Maybe I’ll just drop a clue in each letter and let you follow the path of victory…
I know there’s a lot going on in the world and the purpose of my monthly video is to a) give you tools and resources and b) a conversation to take into your own contemplative space to investigate your inner landscape and see what you bump into…
This month I want to talk about the idea and concept of wealth.
If you look up the definition of the word “wealth” the first thing that populates is “an abundance of valuable possessions or money” and that’s what we’ve all been quite conditioned to right? Wealthy means you have an abundance of valuable possessions. So, you have the nice car, the big house, the expensive wardrobe and accessories, maybe beautiful art, rare books, maybe a summer home and there’s nothing wrong with that but those are the byproducts of wealth, not the meaning of wealth.
Underneath that descriptor line it also says “the state of being rich” and that’s interesting, what constitutes a state? State of mind? State of energy? State of tangible things you can touch, feel, smell and taste?
And below that it says “plentiful supplies of a particular resource” and that one is the most interesting of all. Because what constitutes a “resource” is it a physical resource or something much more innate?
Currently we live in a world where physical resources are being argued about daily. Enough food, housing, water, clothing, the disparity of wealth amongst classes or even the return of castes, and although all of that is true, it’s not the origin point of the conversation and if you’re placing your focus upon it and having an internal dissonance with it, or reaction to it, then you’re focusing on and internally compounding lack, fear, worry, anxiousness and perpetuating a feeling of powerlessness.
That was a mouthful!
Now please understand, I am not saying in any way that you do not get to feel whatever you feel is appropriate. You are an autonomous being and you are the authority of you.
What I am asking is “how much of your time are you focusing on a particular mindset that yields the result of feeling angry, tired, worn down, exhausted, burnt out, afraid, stressed, anxious and eventually powerless?”
Now, is that anywhere near the feeling of being in a state of “plentiful supplies of a particular resource?”
Well yes, it is, and you are yielding a plentiful experience of exactly what you do not want!
Clearly that’s a no to the resources that you want to experience as plentiful, right?
So, we’ve got an internal conflict to resolve.
Let’s dive in…
