In this month’s segment I speak about the Reticular Activating System of the brain and how we create new neural pathways based on what’s important to us. The RAS is responsible for regulating our consciousness and subsequently, filters out all kinds of data that simply isn’t important to us.
But how does that play out if what’s important to us is negative in nature? Like for example, “I don’t believe I am capable of healing myself” or “I think the world is broken and so polarized that it’s never going to get better for me” or “I’m too old or too….fill in the blank, to find love or a better career or become what I really want to be.” How does the RAS work when those beliefs are important to us? Well, it filters out everything that makes achieving your dream possible.
Isn’t that powerful to know? Your thoughts matter. Your brain literally creates new neural pathways and dominant beliefs in your subconscious mind to provide you with evidence of what’s important to you.
So what if today, you changed your mind (literally) about what is important to you?
This and so much more…
Happy new neural pathway paving and I’ll see you next month!
